Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Dear Parents,

The Nursery will be holding a Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Wednesday 24th May during the normal session.  Children are welcome to bring in their favourite teddy and can wear non-uniform.  All food and drink will be provided.  No money is required.

Please note that, weather permitting, the picnic will take place outside, so please ensure your child is adequately protected from the sun.  The picnic will take place inside the Nursery if the weather is not suitable.

Staying safe in the sun

Dear Parents,

Hopefully this is the start of the good weather!  As we will spending a lot of time outdoors in the coming weeks, staff ask that children could be sent to Nursery wearing suntan cream to protect their skin.  Unfortunately, due to the number of children in the Nursery, staff cannot put suntan cream on every child, so please apply this at home.  Children are more than welcome to bring a sunhat to wear, although their name should be written on it to prevent loss.

Oral hygiene

Dear Parents,

As part of our work on the‘t’ sound, we will be looking at oral hygiene and tooth care.  For this reason, please could your child bring in their toothbrush on Wednesday 3rd May (labelled in some way) so that the children can practise brushing their teeth?

Many thanks,

Miss Bowie

New year information

Dear Parents,

The staff would like to say a big hello to those of you whose children have just joined the Nursery and welcome back to those who have returned for another year! The children are settling in beautifully and are already making friends.

There are already many new things this year for everyone to get their heads around and I would like to take this opportunity to explain some of the new features that you may see around the Nursery.

The white metal post box located in the Nursery cloakroom has been installed to collect all money needing to go to the school (e.g. dinner money, money for trips, photo orders).  Any 50p voluntary contributions should be paid to Nursery staff as this is for the Nursery’s resources.

The school have joined the Letter-join handwriting scheme, which the Nursery will also be adopting.  For the Nursery children, this will mean exposure to cursive handwriting in the Nursery setting and their name tags will be altered to reflect this.  Further information about this scheme can be found on the letter attached.

Please note: In the newsletter, it reported that the date for this year’s Nativity will be Tuesday 6th December, however, to accommodate all of the children’s timetables, this has been altered and the Nativity will now take place on Wednesday 7th December.  Further information will be sent nearer the time.

If you have any questions about anything in this letter, or any other concerns, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff,

Miss Bowie

Thank you for a fantastic year,

Miss Bowie, Mrs Metcalfe and Mrs Wheatm
