This term, our gymnastics club have been working towards their British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards. Some of the children who joined the club more recently are very close to achieving their first awards too, and we will keep working towards these in the new year.
Here is a photo of some of the students who collected their certificates and others have been presented in class.

We would like to say a thank you to our local Churches, Whitburn Methodist Church and Whitburn Parish Church, who have supported us in our preparations for Christmas. Whitburn Methodist Church gave us a Christmas time booklet, whilst Whitburn Parish Church gave Christingle sets for all infant children. We hope you enjoy sharing these with your children!

This week in school, the children across Key Stage One and Two have been learning about the voting system. The children then all voted for who they would to represent their class on the school council using official ballot boxes. The new council members elected are:
Year 1 – Darcie and Ollie
Year 2 – Archie and Lola
Year 3 – Kian and Darcie
Year 4 – Zach and Ella
Year 5 – Jacob and Reuben
Year 6 – Seren and Gavin
Dear Parents
We hope that you and your children have had a lovely summer and have had the opportunity to enjoy the sunny weather. The time seems to have passed by so quickly and we are now starting to make arrangements for our return to school. We want to draw your attention to the following dates:
- There will be a staff training day on Monday 7th September 2020.
- We are looking forward to welcoming our children back to school on Tuesday 8th September 2020.
We all wish you a safe and enjoyable last 2 weeks to the Summer Holidays. Looking forward to having our school community back together.
From
The Staff of Whitburn Village Primary School.
Whitburn Village Primary School now has not one but two fantastic racing trim trails thanks to all the hard work, time and generosity of our whole Whitburn school community!
A huge thank you to the fundraising group who have organised our events and to everyone who has attended and contributed to them. We have had great fun raising the money with raffles, summer fayre, family picnics and fun nights as well as kind donations from many people. We have attached some pictures of the trim trail plus our Year 6’s having a go!
I hope very soon we will all be able to enjoy these events again together.
