The Future Begins Here…

Careers Fair

3rd July 2023J Dejonge

Last week, we had some parents come into school and do a ‘careers fair’ with our Year 6 children. It was a brilliant experience for our children to talk about a range of professions – they asked some great questions! A huge thank you to:

Michele Gettins – Chief Marketing Officer

Amanda Lenney – Pioneer for CO-OP

Matthew Strain – Lawyer

Joanne White – Administrator at Sunderland University

Paul McCoy – TV Producer

Abigail Fox – Lecturer at South Tyneside Council

Bryony Thomson – Vet

Y6 visit to Sunderland Uni

6th October 2022J Dejonge

This week, year six visited the University of Sunderland for the day. We had a tour of the city campus and saw the amazing facilities on offer. We then learned about the types of subjects you can study at university and which jobs require a degree.  We then designed our own universities and the student ambassadors were very impressed with our ideas and designs. We finished the day by focusing on different skills we develop in school and how they can be transferable to our future lives.
