Today was our annual Jolly Jumper & Christmas Dinner Day! We all looked amazing, and while we were having our Christmas dinner, we put Christmas songs on and had a sing and dance!
Our Christmas tree arrived at school yesterday, and the breakfast club have done a great job decorating it!
This week was anti-bullying week with the theme of ‘show respect.’ The children thought about ways we can show respect at school. On Friday, the children wore their odd socks and talked about what makes them unique.
We had a wonderful assembly this morning celebrating Harvest. We sang songs, spoke about Harvest, and then talked about the generous donations for Hospitality & Hope. Our school council helped bag it up, and the head boy & deputy head boy delivered it to the driver.
On Friday, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Show Racism The Red Card. Their slogan this year was ‘Be Loud & Be Proud’. We came to school dressed in red, and completed different activities throughout the day.
On Monday, we held a party night for our children. We all had a great time paying lots of games and winning prizes. A big thank you to George from Lil Devil Entertainment who ran the party!
Today is World Mental Health Day. KS2 took part in workshops with Luna Blu – it looked like they had a great time!
We have all been thinking about mental health across school today. The children in Nursery and Reception enjoyed extra time learning outside in the fresh air. They worked together making an obstacle course, hunting for mini beasts and making lava. In review time, the children talked about what they did outside and how they had helped a friend!
Year 1 made happiness jars and drew all of the things that make them happy.
Year 2 enjoyed the story Gory Rory Fangface and then did 10 minutes of quiet reading time. They then followed the illustrators instructions for drawing Gory Rory Fangface.
Key Stage 2 took 10 with Susie Dent and found out about some of the wonderful words she included in her book “Roots of Happiness”. The children then took part in the Take Ten to Read challenge which was to complete ten minutes of quiet reading. Reading can calm your mind and help you to relax.
